TFE Wednesday…

If you’re looking for a label to watch in 2007, then my money is on TFE Records, if not to storm the globe, then to prove itself as a label doing something new. TFE have had just 5 releases to date, the first one “Tschakk” was some seriously lo-fi minimal techno with a great Dapayk […]

Eh?

Did anyone read the last post and just think “what in the name of Christ is Fizheuer Ziheuer, what is he talking about?” as I rambled on about what a shock it was I hadn’t heard this record.
I really hope so! I guess that’s the techno bubble I live in where I just assume everyone […]

Confession Time

Here’s where I confess that until today I had never heard “Fizheuer Zieheuer”. This is especially shocking I suppose, not least when you consider that it is the first result you’ll find when Googling “Fizheuer”.
The reason I didn’t hear it is mainly because I didn’t want to. Well, that and not being out at clubs […]

Podcarl

Via the excellent and always interesting Robidog blog: Carl Craig has a new Podcast for the Demon Days night he runs with DJ Gamall, it’s up to listen to at Samurai FM. Great spaced out house…have a listen!
It’s always interesting to see how someone like Craig intersects with the German house sounds, nice though not […]

John Cooper Clarke

I read last week that John Cooper Clarke’s Zip Style Method has been re-released, which is interesting to me cos I’ve been listening to JCC a lot in the last few months. It’s not always easy to gauge just how well known an artist is when they’re in a genre you’re unfamiliar with, in this […]

Lonrach 18/01/2006

Here’s last night’s show at a considerably lower bitrate than usual. That wasn’t intentional but I might start encoding the shows at 192 or even 128 since this is 96 and doesn’t sound too bad…probably 192 would be best.
Tracklist:

Jesse Somfay-Small Pebbled Forest (Archipel)
Audio Werner-Moved (Circus Company)
Todd Bodine-Kling Klang (Highgrade)
Alexis Tyrel-Calimero (Gray Area)
Terry-Chupafingazz (Mi Musik)
Mike Shannon-Ghost […]

Watergate Ceiling…

Cheers to Ambrose for tipping me off about this on Myspace…some amazing videos of the ceiling in the Watergate nightclub in Berlin. Check these out, feels like watching a natural process rather than electric lights in a nightclub…there’s tons of similar footage out there.

Happy Birthday Beatport

3 free tracks as a present to customers! I take back everything bad I’ve ever said about Beatport. Well…almost everything, I’d love to work for Beatport, that must be fun. Anyway I wonder if every customer got three free tracks or if you have to have spent money. Either way, thank you Beatport, this is […]

The Weird World of Dominik Eulberg

From Traum comes word of Heimische Gefilde, a new CD from everyone’s favourite park ranger, Dominik Eulberg, due in April. The CD will feature unreleased versions of all Eulberg’s Traum releases aswell as what Traum call “voice moderation of Dominik Eulberg himself in word and tone + vogel techno orchester!!!!”. Yes that’s right, vogel techno […]
