Agnes, doesn’t wear rollers or have blue rinse hair

Lately I always check and play Agnes’s releases, whether on Plak or Perspectiv, or wherever.
It’s good news then that the increasingly prolific Swiss producer, whose name really will make English, Irish, and possibly American listeners think of friends of their Grandmas, has just released an LP on Resopal. Of course I’m probably being highly ignorant here in that (a) there’s an accent grave on the e which I can’t seem to make appear, and (b) for all I know, in Switzerland Agnes might be a name for burly alpha males.
Anyway, I really am enjoying his productions more and more. After the dark thump of “Hi Murda” on Perspectiv, this track from the new LP, which is available on Beatport (please buy it if you like this) is also really special, a long rolling deep house cut. If you were hoping for some more upbeat music than I’ve been posting lately then I’m afraid this might disappoint, the vibe is very melancholy here, but what a brilliant track. Perhaps I need to get into a more summer frame of mind, or perhaps it’s the summer that’s the problem!
Just kidding, I actually just think that these deep sad records are just really great all year round. A great piece of music is a great piece of music. Plus you know, other blogs can give you the peaktime tunes. Remember, if you do enjoy this please support Agnes and the various labels he’s associated with.

ALAS OH AGNES! I STILL ADORE YOU!
The thing i don’t get is how generally people think techno is dark and gloomy because of the environment it’s played in usually maybe. I find a lot of techno and house sounds like crystalised lakes being slowly melted by rays of sunlight….then again….i may be wrong.
I really like Agnes and Ripperton too, whose mixes have provided perfect company to these summery days over the last while.

Liking the tune a lot.
If it’s é you’re looking for then that’s ALT+0233 on a windows machine. Coincidentally, I totally freaked myself out by remembering the alt code for that particular character off the top of my head today when I needed it for a certain word. Usually it takes a trip to an alt code table!
