“House Is A Feeling”
Michaelangelo Matos writes a nice account of the past and present of Chuck Roberts’ “My House” accapella, possibly the most well worn vocal in the history of house music.
Obviously the lyric is where I got the title for this blog, except funnily enough I didn’t actually name this site. It was originally a group blog which had two concurrent names and when everyone else stopped posting I took the current one. I like the implied subjectivity of “House Is A Feeling” that seems to echo down the ages, as if a gauntlet is thrown down for years of innovation and twists on an ostensibly rigid formula. It’s as if Roberts could see the future: a vast jungle of electronic music spread out all over the world.
After 3 years of the same name I’ve often considered a change, especially when due to my career I’ve had to talk about the site in job interviews and suddenly find myself trying to explain the meaning of the term or worse, what house music is. “Well Mr Potential Employer, how can I put this? Not everyone understands house music.”

Ha I presume the last line was an intentional quote from the Eddie Amador track
